Regulation Ruling the Competition

 

1. The Zurich Marathon Association is the organizer of the 7th Zurich Marathon.
2. See the categories section for the different event categories. The maximum time limit for completion of the race is 5:30 hours based on chip timing. Participants who do not cross the finish line within the set time limit of 5:30 hours will not classify.
3. The course is measured according to the regulations defined by the Association of International Marathons and Road Races (AIMS).
4. Chips will be used for time measurement. All participants in the Zurich Marathon will receive a coded chip together with their number bib. Chips must be returned after crossing the finish line. Participants may not use their own chips.
5. Participants must follow the instructions given by the race course personnel. Private escort of participants on bicycles and otherwise is not allowed. Any deviation from the set course is prohibited. Final decisions regarding disqualifications will be made by the technical directors of the organizing committee.
6. First aid will be available along the race course and in the starting and finish areas.
7. Starting at the km marker 5 a food and beverage stand can be found every 3.5 km. Food and beverages may not be handed out by private parties.
8. Runners participate in the Zurich Marathon at their own risk. The organizers accept no responsibility for cases of illness or accidents.
9. All participants are responsible for providing their own insurance, including accident insurance.
10. All runners who cross the finish line within the time limit of 5:30 hours (chip timing) will receive a finisher medal and an exclusive finisher T-Shirt.
11. The organizers may use the mailing addresses of participants for marketing purposes unless the organizers are notified in writing to the contrary. Photo and film recordings made in connection with the Zurich Marathon can be used in TV programs, websites, house advertising, magazines and books without commission fee entitlement.
12. The ranking list will be published online (zurichmarathon.ch) after the event.
13. The interpretation of the rules and regulations is at the organizers discretion. All participants enter the race at their own risk. If a registered runner does not compete in the race, the entry fee will be forfeited and will not be reimbursed by the organizers
14. If the race can not be carried out or can be carried out only partially due to force majeure, participants will not be reimbursed for the entry fee.
